Translation

Open the door and let me serve you, O Hari!
Can't you hear me although I am shouting?

O Narahari! In Vaikuntha in the ocean of milk, while you were relaxing with Lakshmi on the serpent bed
And the king of elephants called out ‘aadi moola!' in distress, you came at once to his aid.

O Narahari! When the villain (Hiranyakashipu) with sword in his hand and in great anger roared ‘Where is your Lord?'
And the boy (Prahlaada) prayed for you in sincere devotion, you immediately appeared breaking down the pillar.

You gave a never ending garment to the queen (Draupadi) of Yama's son
You saved Ajamila at the right moment
O Redeemer of Devotees! No time is inconvenient to You
Lotus-eyed Adikeshava of Kaaginele.

Translation:

Come Krishna, come to your devotees house now.
Come, show your face, who is comparable to you, the supporter of universe?
You have sandals on your feet, anklets and small bells that make the sound dhim dhimi worn on your ankles. Come, playing the golden flute.
You have sparkling gold rings and bangles in your hand that make the sound kinkini kini kini. Come, playing the golden flute.
Oh Adi Keshava, you dwell in Udupi; I, Kanaka, am a humble devotee of your feet, please come to me.

Translation:

I have been saved, indeed I am saved; all my worldly worries are over
The grace of Padmanabha's sacred feet is bestowed upon me.

My tongue has received the holy water and the prasaada of Hari
My ears have tasted the nectar of Hari's sacred names
The servants of Hari have become my kinsmen
The sacred mark of Hari has become my ornament.

Today my life has been granted all the riches
My life hereafter has become worthwhile
Shree Kaaginele Aadikeshavaraaya who is my father
Has come and settled in my heart.

Oh mind, think of Bhuvaneswari,
And leave out the fear of birth and attachment

By her great grace, be calm and be happy

That word which does not leave you out,
Is that of the mother of the three worlds,
Who is beyond the three qualities,
Who is the divine wish giving well to her devotees,
Who is praised by Brahma and beloved of Hrishikesa.

Those men who do not find pleasure on meditating,
At your feet are leading a life without any meaning,

And the garland of Vaijayanthi on your neck, please come.

3. Adorned with yellow silk of Benares with flute in your hand,
And with sandal paste applied all over body.

4. You who showed the universe in your mouth to your mother,
Oh God who carried the earth, Oh Our God Udupi Sri Krishna.

Are both the temple and the grounds are within the eye?
Is the eye inside the intellect or is the intellect within the eye?
Are both the eye and the intellect within You?

Is the sweetness inside sugar or is the sugar within the sweetness?
Are both sweetness and sugar within the tongue?
Is the tongue inside the mind or the mind within the tongue?
Are both tongue and mind within You, Oh Hari!

Is the fragrance inside the flower or the flower within the fragrance?
Are both the fragrance and the flower within the nose?
Oh Kaginele Adi Keshava of incomparable origin!
I am not powerful enough to answer, everything is within You Hari.

English Translation

Always live in my heard, oh God Hari.

Of Lord of music, with enthusiasm,
I would sing about your feet.

1. In the stage built by nine gems called Wisdom,
I would make you sit in the middle,
And sing about you by meditation.

2. After seeking the gem of the feeling of devotion,
I would worship you with a flame of pearls,
So that I van become free.

3. I would not leave and not allow you to leave me,
Oh God who sleeps on serpent, Oh Vijaya Vittala
Please hear these words of your devotees.

Translation:

pallavi: While the yAdava prince (Krishna) is playing the flute in Brindaavana...

anupallavi: Radha and other Gopis serving you Madhusoodana, all the gods in the heaven crowding to look at you and the apsaras (nymphs) forgetting themselves (at the sight of you).

caraNam 1: (While you are) playing the notes with your flute and singing, trimoortis (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva) are rejoicing and Sages Tumburu & NArada are singing along.

caraNam 2: Krishna, with eyes like lotus petals, AdikEshava of kAginele, the supreme cowherd wanders slowly with cows and calves (while playing the flute)
