(These are called Pathiyams and are again sung during Nalungu which is a play between the groom and bride meant to break the ice. Some of the them would try to tease or make fun of the groom/bride or their parents.)

Pathiyam

1. Ksheerabdhi sayanane, chinmayanandane
Devar kurai theerkka vanda Garuda dwajane

2. Maaratha aananda kadal thannil moozhga vaitha
Manmathakaarane Vanaja nayane

3. Daralama yendan munnagave vandhu,
Thazhuviye rathathin mel yethu Madanane

4. Paaralum Sishupalan thannai avamanam cheytha,
Parama kalyani oyyaara nayane

5. Theeratha mana kkavalai theerthu vaitheer,
Chiru budhi rukhmananai avamathitheer,
Peranandam thannil thilaya vaitheer,
Poorna vadivagave sevai thantheer.

English Translation

1. Oh God who sleeps on the ocean of milk,
Oh God who is divinely happy,
Oh God with a flag with Garuda,
Who came to solve problems of devas.

2. Oh Krishna who looks like God of love,
Oh Krishna who has lotus like eyes,
You made me drown in the perennial sea of joy.

3. Without any problem come before me,
Hug me and help me climb the chariot.

4. Oh God who has pretty eyes that does only good,
You insulted Shishupala who was ruling the world.

5. You completely cured my incurable worries,
You insulted the silly minded Rugmi,
Made me drown in great joy,
And appeared before me in your full form.
