Jaga janani shuka pani kalyani

Sukka swaroopini, madhura vani,
Chokka nathar manam magizhum meenakshi

Chranam

Pandya kumari bhavani Amba,
Shiva Panchami parameshwari
Vendum varam thara innum manam illayo,
Veda Vedantha Nada Swaroopini.

English Translation

Pallavi

Mother of the world who holds a parrot
And who does only good

Anupallavi

She who has a parrot like form, she who has a sweet voice,
And she who is Meenakshi who makes Chokkanathar's mind happy.

Charanam

Oh Daughter of Pandya king, Bhavani, Mother,
Oh Consort of Shiva, Panchami, Greatest Goddess,
Don't you have still mind to give the boon that I want,
Oh personification of sound of Vedas and Vedangas.
